Thanksgiving is a holiday  in the United States and Canada. In the United States it is celebrated on the fourth Thursday in November, in Canada on the second Monday in October,The holiday has its historical roots in the early 17th century, when Pilgrims and Native Americans came together to give thanks for a successful harvest.

Thanksgiving  a festive meal, which usually includes a roasted turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, cranberries, a glass of wine, cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie, people to come together with their family and friends, express gratitude for the blessings in their lives and enjoy a hearty meal together.

Many people also take the opportunity to reflect on what they are thankful for and participate in charity events and community service activities. It is a day to express gratitude and spend quality time with loved ones. In addition, Thanksgiving in the United States often marks the beginning of the holidays that prepare for Christmas and the New Year.

The Pilgrim Fathers arrived in Plymouth in 1620 in search of religious freedom. With the help of the Wampanoag, especially Squanto, the Pilgrims learned to farm the land and had a successful harvest in 1621.

Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City is one of the most famous. American football games, both professional and amateur, are also an integral part of Thanksgiving traditions and serve as a time of reflection and expression of gratitude for the things for which one is thankful. It is a time for families and friends to come together, share stories and appreciate the company of other Americans.
